Well, I think (with our three-year anniversary coming up) it's about time to go ahead and officially make our VenturianTale Wiki policy. I know that it's been an awful long time since the Wiki started, but it would help to go ahead and make a policy for the Wiki. First and foremost, this discussion is highlighted for admins to participate in the creation of the policy. If you are not an admin, you may still make suggestions to the Wiki's policy, but the administrators are the final authority on what goes into the policy. Also, these rules below are not official. If you disagree with any of them, say something in the comments.
So, basic things that I think need to be in this policy:
#1: Do not try to speak to the VenturianTale crew on the VenturianTale Wiki. This is a fan-made encyclopedia, it's not official. Try to speak to them on deviantART, Instagram, or YouTube.
#2: Be nice to one another. Do not use profanity in pages (unless you are writing a fan fiction story). Do not insult other contributors or push your beliefs onto them. This is meant to be a community for fans to get along with and speak to one another on the topic: VenturianTale.
#3: If you dislike Five Nights at Freddy's, Undertale, or just VenturianTale in general, do not hate on them here. Carry those discussions elsewhere.
#4: Only insert canonical information into character, location, video, item, etc. pages. If you are making fan stories, insert the tab "Fan:"' before the story's title, such as "Fan: Casket: Jimmy Casket's Origin." 'Fan character pages can be added, just be sure to denote somewhere within the pages that they are fan characters and add the "fan characters" category.
#5: Do not post information about yourself (phone numbers, email addresses, addresses, pictures, etc.) or the VenturianTale crew (unless it has already been released elsewhere).
#6: Only upload pictures or videos pertaining to VenturianTale (unless it is for a game they have played or a character they have used from other franchises, such as Five Nights at Freddy's, Undertale, or Star Wars).
#7: I don't have too much to say for this rule yet, but it has to do with sourcing on pages. I still need to learn how to do this myself, and I know it will be quite a hassle to do this major of an edit to 2000+ pages. It will help cut down on non-canon info that is being added.
#8: I also think there should be some discussion as to fan fiction story guidelines. Should "stronger" profanity not be allowed, as VenturianTale is a PG channel? Or should we just add rating certificates to each story?
That's all I've got for now. I'm waiting to hear your thoughts on this matter. I hope that we can have a policy up and running as soon as possible!
