The' Gotham Police Department' is the local police force of Gotham City. Unsuprisingly, they are corrupt. They aren't afraid to kill instead of arrest, as seen when one shot at Batman as he was trying to surrender.

GCPD officers usually wore blue uniforms with bulletproof vests. Some wore gas masks, presumably in case of chemical attacks or tear gas. They wielded large black batons, and assault rifles.
